It was just announced that Microsoft would be forcing Internet Explorer 6 to upgrade next month. Some older computers are not really capable of upgrading, so you should be watching out for this if you have a ten year old computer.
You can check on this by opening Internet Explorer and find the “About Internet Explorer” in the menus at the top. In most cases, it will be under the help tab. You may see version 6.0234345356 or something similar – there is nothing to be concerned with if you have a newer version, which you probably already do.
If you do have version 6, you may want to back up any information (pictures, music, records, etc.) before next month. The Internet Explorer browser is deeply tied into all Windows computers, so a forced upgrade may cause some things not to work right afterward. Better safe than sorry.
