Site Aims

The experience when you visit a website is often tied to the degree of privacy that the site developers and management allow. Many things that invade your intenet browsing privacy are those things we don't like. Below, we list our Aims in making this site a comfortable place to visit and respect visitors.

Our Aims

Last Updated: 25-04

We want you to visit here often, so we choose to show you the experience we'd like to see when we visit other sites.

In general, it's our policy NOT to have an annoying website.
Here are a few things we wish every website did:

•  No pop-ups or other nags.

•  No tracking cookies. Cookies have their proper uses, but this site doesn't need them to provide you any content. There may be a referring code attached to certain outbound links, but those are meant to produce royalties from our referrals to other sites or products and services. We don't use them for anything.

•  No site analytics that can track individuals while they browse this site. If ever we install analytics, we would opt for something anonymized. All servers record some details about visits in aggregate but you can take comfort that based on all that information, it very unlikely we could track your specific activity here on this site if we even wanted to.

•  There is no subscription-based content on this site, so no one needs to create an account to read this site. We would (possibly) implement that via a newsletter if there is demand from our readers.

•  You can opt to get site update notifications via RSS, Atom, JSON or by email, if you like. All the site updates can also be found on the Archive page as well.

•  You will never need to disable your ad blocker to see the content. Ads, if present, will be minimal and unobstrusive and will mostly be our own products.

•  Comments are welcome through email. You are even welcome to strongly but politely disagree with anything you find on this site. With your permission, we may choose to post your comment(s) and response(s) in a threaded manner on articles or blog pages. Any social media comments you send may be linked to, as well. This is a manual process (for the moment) so spam or inappropiate comments will not be posted, obviously.

•  Ideally, this website should display acceptably on every device and in any modern browser. It may look slightly different on a phone versus a tv screen, but the content is the same. It is designed to be as accessible as technology currently allows as of November 2023. If there is an accessibility issue, please let us know what the issue is, what program(s) and device(s) you are using. We'd love to improve.

•  If something looks strange or doesn't work, please let us know - it would be helpful to email us with details about any issue. Please (if you can) provide a screenshot if there is a visible problem, what pages have the issue and what kind of browser you are using.

Use of this Site

We should say that use of this website or the information presented is accurate to the best of our knowledge, we can provide no warranty about its fitness for your purposes. It is our hope that this site can serve you in helpful ways.

Also, this site is served securely, created from HTML with minimal Javascript and has no forms or database - all of which serves to make a very safe browsing environment. Despite our best efforts, it is still possible that something outside of our control in the complicated chain of interactions that delivers a website to your device may cause you trouble.
